Dodgers’ Tyler Glasnow Revealed How He Felt Getting a Recruitment Video From Shohei Ohtani

If Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow needed an extra reason to return home and play for the team he followed as a kid, his teammate Shohei Ohtani gave him one in the form of a recruitment video.

In a recent interview with Mookie Betts on his podcast, Glasnow revealed what Ohtani told him in the video and how it made him feel.

“It essentially was, ‘Hey, I hope you sign with the Dodgers and I want to hit a lot of home runs for you,'” Glasnow summarized. “And he’s been doing it. It’s been great!”

Glasnow said the most important part of where he is at in his career right now is winning and watching the video made him realize that for Ohtani to take the time to make it, winning was important to him too. Ohtani has launched a team-high 13 home runs this season with three of them coming in a game Glasnow started.

“If the goal is winning, this is the team to win on,” Glasnow added. “It was a no-brainer for me.”

Glasnow is 6-3 on the season with an ERA of 3.09 in 11 starts.
