Dodgers vs Giants: Latest Betting Odds, Predictions and Picks for August 4

The Dodgers are vying for their second four-game sweep of the arch rival Giants in three weeks. On Wednesday night, the Dodgers bagged a win for Vin in a 3-0 nail bitter thanks to another adventuresome outing from closer Craig Kimbrel.

Clayton Kershaw (2.66 ERA in 14 starts) gets the start for the Dodgers, with righty Jakob Junis (2.78 ERA in 12 games) on the hill for the Giants.

FanDuel has the Dodgers (-1.5) as the favorites as of 11:24PM PT. LA is favored to cover the spread (-132), with the Giants covering the 1.5 run spread listed at (+110). The Dodgers are -220 to win the game outright. The Giants are +184 to pull off the upset. 

The over-under is set at eight runs, with the under (-112) slightly more favored than the over (-108). Last night’s game was the first of the three games in the series to hit the under.

Mookie Betts and Will Smith are the two favorites to hit at least home run in the game, each own +400 odds to hit a long ball. Giants outfielder Austin Slater is +450 and LA first baseman Freddie Freeman is +460.


Kershaw's strikeout over-under is 6.5. The under is listed at -150, with the over in plus money (+118). In his last three starts, Clayton has averaged five strikeouts, including a three strikeout performance in Colorado where he gave up three earned runs in 5.1 IP.

  1. Trading Mitch White isn’t looking too good right now with Kershaw’s latest back injury, and Heaney being innings limited and injury prone, although looking very good so far.
