Dodgers: World Series Reactions, Players Hit the Free Agent Market, Youth Movement Incoming? | Blue Heaven Podcast
The World Series is finally over and so too is the 2022 Major League Baseball season. For Dodgers fans, it was a great ride right up until October when things started going off track. Then things fully derailed as the Astros were crowned as World Series champions over the weekend.
The guys talk a bit about Houston’s title and the power of one player’s pep talk to a team that ultimately never lost again.
In other news and notes, it’s MLB awards season and the Dodgers have a finalist for Cy Young and for Manager of the Year. But Freddie Freeman was snubbed in the NL MVP vote. We break down the nominations before diving in to LA’s 10 free agents who hit the open market following WS game 6.
There’s also a fair conversation on Trea Turner and his sizzle reel and the general lukewarm feeling the Dodgers and the shortstop seem to have on the surface when it comes to a return. With that, could Gavin Lux end up being the plan going forward at short in 2023? LA CEO Stan Kasten’s recent comments might make you believe it.

Kasten spoke with the LA Times about a myriad of topics including a potential youth movement on the horizon for the boys in blue. We weigh the positives and negatives and rattle off some names that could be difference makers.

The Dodgers should have at least made the offer for a TT extension last off season when they had exclusive bargaining power if they were interested. They knew the price would go up this off season. Now they are open to sign Correa and have a story for the fan base that doesn’t want that. Correa will want a bigger short time deal than the twins gave him or a deal bigger than Seager’s.
