Dodgers: Yasiel Puig Still Has a Cannon in the KBO

There have been few Dodgers players that have ignited the fans over the past 20 years as Yasiel Puig did. From the moment that he came up to the big league squad in 2013, Puig’s exciting play constantly got the fans into a frenzy at Chavez Ravine. That style of play also would often get to the opposing fanbases, making him someone other teams hated to play.

And his production at the plate also helped Puig’s case with Dodgers fans. From 2013 to 2015, he hit 46 homeruns and drove in 149 runs en route to earning an All-Star Game nod in his second year. But the wheels sort of fell off for him after that.

Now all these years later, Puig finds himself playing in the KBO. But this highlight from the former Dodgers outfielder was a reminder of what he could do to ignite the crowd. On a line drive into right, Puig scooped the ball up and unleashed a throw to home to throw out the runner.

Dodgers fans who got to watch Puig play saw things like this almost on a daily basis. He tallied 49 outfield assists in his time with Los Angeles, often making some of the most ridiculous throws you will ever see from an outfielder.

Since leaving the Dodgers, Puig has bounced around trying to make his way back to the big leagues. A brief stint with the Reds and Indians led to him playing in the Mexican Leagues before signing a deal with the Kiwoom Heroes.
