Former Dodgers Utility Man Signs With NL Central Squad

Former Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Jake Lamb has signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates once again. Lamb played for the Dodgers in 2022 before he was traded to the Seattle Mariners in August of that year.

During his time with the Dodgers, Lamb appeared in 25 games and slashed .239/.338/.433 with 16 hits, 10 runs, two home runs, and four RBIs. Since, he played for the Mariners, the Los Angeles Angels in 2023, and now the Pirates.

Lamb signed with the Pirates last December on a minor league contract, playing exclusively in Triple-A with the team. He did leave the team in June when he decided to opt out of his contract and become a free agent, but he has now re-signed on a minor league deal. He has slashed .294/.382/.418 with 59 hits, 27 runs, four home runs, and 31 RBIs. He is still seeking his first major league action of the year.

Prior to joining the Dodgers, Lamb spent the majority of his career with the Arizona Diamondbacks, playing for them from 2014-20. He made his lone All-Star appearance during his time with the Diamondbacks. He also played for the Oakland Athletics, Chicago White Sox, and Toronto Blue Jays during brief stints with each team.

Overall in his career, Lamb has slashed .235/.326/.427 with 96 home runs and 342 RBIs with 18 stolen bases.
