Julio Urias News: Law Enforcement Completes Investigation on Former Dodgers Pitcher
Law enforcement agencies have completed their investigation into former Dodgers starting pitcher Julio Urias. They have now turned the case over to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, which will determine whether any criminal charges will be assessed.
Urias was arrested in early September under suspected domestic battery. He was arrested following an LAFC match in Los Angeles and was released on bail the following morning.
He was placed on paid administrative leave while Major League Baseball conducted their investigation. The law enforcement agencies received video evidence after Urias was released on bail, leading to them conducting their own investigation.
At this time, there is no timetable for any decision coming from the district attorney. But once they’re done, then Major League Baseball will render their judgment on any potential suspension.
Urias won’t be returning to the Dodgers in 2024. He was scheduled to be a free agent, and there is a good chance that he will receive a suspension from Major League Baseball.
The Dodgers have distanced themselves from Urias since the incident happened, taking down murals around Dodger Stadium. They also removed memorabilia that had his name, and his locker in the clubhouse was taken away, as well.
