MLB Insider Sees Former Dodgers MVP Cody Bellinger Landing With AL East Squad

Former Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger is one of the more sought-after players on the open market right now, and after his strong season with the Chicago Cubs, he should see a massive payday. Bellinger may wait for some of the other big free agents to sign before he makes his decision, potentially giving him more options.

There has been some speculation about a reunion between the Dodgers and Bellinger, but it feels very unlikely at this point. Additionally, with Scott Boras as his agent, the Dodgers may be hesitant to bring him back.

Bellinger has been heavily linked with the rival San Francisco Giants and New York Yankees this offseason, leading to the thought he will end up in one of those two locations. It would sting to see him wearing a Giants jersey, but they have the money and determination to possibly land him.

MLB insider Bob Nightengale spoke with our very own Doug McKain and gave his thoughts on where Bellinger could end up this offseason. The entire interview is available to watch right here!

“The Yankees are more desperate than most teams so I think he ends up in New York.”

The Yankees have long been linked with Bellinger, so his landing in New York would make a lot of sense. His dad played with the Yankees also, making it a fun story if Bellinger did end up signing with the team.

Last season with the Cubs, Bellinger completely revitalized his career. He hit .307 with 26 home runs and 97 runs batted in. It was good enough for him to win the National League Comeback Player of the Year award.

Dodgers fans will always have a special place in their hearts for Bellinger and will follow him for the rest of his career. He grew up with the Dodgers and was a key piece to the 2020 championship team. We wish him luck in his free agency decision, and hope he signs somewhere other than with the Giants!

  1. Bellinger need to go head an sign with the Yankees and get a championship just like his Dad did. It’s no place like home. Make Yankees Nation Proud.

  2. Playing for the Yank-offs would be tough on Bellinger because their fans are so cruel to their own players. The Dodgers fans still cheered for Bellinger even after he struggled for two years and ended up batting something like .212 in his last season in LA. If he plays in New York, the so-called fans there will shower him with beer even if he bats .250 with 25 home runs. Don’t do it Belli.

  3. Belli I would love to see you back on our dodgers it sadden me to see you go for one I knew you would bounce back and two you grew up on our team, I wish Boras wasn’t so greedy and that he didn’t hate the dodgers so much or we would see you back , anyways get that payday from the Yanks you deserve/earned it, just please don’t sign with the rivals SF !!!!! Best wishes Cody!!!!
