MLB Pipeline Updates Dodgers List of Top 30 Prospects Entering 2023 Season

Baseball season is upon us, and with that comes the list the MLB creates for each teams’ top prospects.

The Dodgers have the best farm system according to Keith Law of the Atheltic, and one of the reasons for that is their number one prospect and fourteenth-best prospect in the league, Diego Cartaya.

This is the second consecutive year the 21-year-old is the number one prospect for Los Angeles. Trailing Cartaya is young righty Bobb Miller (MLB No. 24) followed by Miguel Vargas (MLB No. 37), Michael Busch (MLB No. 54), and Gavin Stone (MLB No. 56).

The top four remain the same from the previous season for the Boys in Blue besides Stone cracking the top five replacing outfielder Andy Pages.

Pages moves down to number seven, while Ryan Pepiot remains at number six. Catcher Dalton Rushing is at eight followed by the outfielder who stole every Dodger fan’s heart, James Outman and righty pitcher Nick Nastrini rounding out the top ten.

Outfielder Jose Ramos was in the top ten in 2022 but fell to number 23 on the prospect list.

Cartaya, Miller, Vargas, Busch, and Stone are projected to lead the Dodgers into the next generation and continue the dominance they’ve displayed for the past decade.

Three of the top ten Dodger prospects will make an immediate impact this season as they will prove they belong in the big leagues. The lights shine brighter in Los Angeles as the organization and the fans hope they pan out.

Vargas will get his shot at a full season in 2023, as he will play a ton in the infield. He is one of the better hitters in their prospect list and is hoping it translates to the big leagues.

Pepiot will be a common fixture in the rotation after starting only nine games in 2022 with some spot starts.

And, Outman will compete for a spot in the outfield as he will be another to show he belongs in the big leagues.

The Dodgers remain the standard for building an elite farm system, their minor league talent is just as good as their major league talent. The organization and Dodger faithful cannot wait to see what they bring to the table.
