One MLB Insider Would Take Dodgers Over The Field In Shohei Ohtani Sweepstakes
We are all waiting patiently to see where free agent two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani will sign this offseason, and most moves around the league will wait until he makes his decision. The Dodgers are included in this, and they are generally seen as the favorites to land him.
Ohtani would bring massive star power with him to Los Angeles, and the team would benefit from him both on and off the field. He is the biggest star in the game today, and landing him would be the biggest signing in franchise history.
While LA is the favorite to sign him, there are plenty of other teams vying for his services. But one MLB insider said that he would take the Dodgers over the field to land the superstar.
“Although a number of teams are planning to take their shot at Ohtani — the Mets, Giants, Cubs, Red Sox, Rangers and Angels among them — I would still take the Dodgers against the field.”

There are a ton of other great teams that could entice Ohtani to join them, but the Dodgers make the most sense. They can offer him a legitimate chance to win the World Series each season he would be with the team, which is something most others can’t do.
LA is set up to win right now, and five-plus years down the line. It’s a testament to how the organization has run things, and it’s a big reason why many think Ohtani ends up in Los Angeles.
The Dodgers have been after Ohtani since he was in high school, and this is their chance to finally get him into Dodger Blue. They have been prepping for this offseason for a while now, and they don’t want to let the opportunity slip by them again.
LA knows what is at stake here, and it feels like they are doing everything they can to sign Ohtani. It remains to be seen what ultimately happens, but the Dodgers feel confident in their chances this offseason.
