Shohei Ohtani Rumors: Dodgers Given Best Chance To Land Superstar By MLB Insider

Everywhere you look right now, the baseball world is talking about the free agency of Shohei Ohtani. He is the talk of the sport, and we all are waiting for him to make his decision this offseason.

The Dodgers are expected to be aggressive in trying to land him this winter, but other teams remain in the hunt. It seems that each day a new rumor or team comes about, and it all impacts the Dodgers chances of signing him.

MLB writer Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report ranked the Dodgers as the team with the best chance to land Ohtani this winter. It seems to be a general consensus among the industry that the Dodgers remain the frontrunner for the two-way superstar.

“The sun shines. The earth spins. And the Dodgers continue to be seen as the favorite for Ohtani.”

Per Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report

Ohtani has been heavily linked to the Dodgers for a long time now, and it’s in part because of their ability to field a winning team around him. He has made it clear that his priority is to win at the highest level, and LA can offer him the chance to win the World Series every single season.

There aren’t many teams that can realistically show him that fact, but the Dodgers have made the postseason 11 straight years. Plus, being located in Southern California doesn’t hurt their chances either.

“Even though it needs help now, it’s hardly worth worrying about how Ohtani would have to wait until 2025 to help the Dodgers’ starting rotation. They could sign other guys to cover for him on the mound. All he would have to do in ’24 is mash baseballs along with fellow MVPs Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman.”

Per Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report

LA could help Ohtani recover from his torn UCL this coming year and set him up to begin his 2025 return to the mound. They have experience dealing with injuries like this, and that could play a factor in his ultimate decision.

If the Dodgers are able to land Ohtani, it would be the biggest signing in franchise history. He is the biggest show in baseball, and Ohtani is unlike any player that we have ever seen before.

  1. Let’s face reality here; rumors are usually empty talk and the fact is Ohtani could very well sign elsewhere, but hopefully not a division rival. One can only hope Freidman doesn’t allow Dodgers to be totally out bid, but it could happen, wss.

  2. Every day, there is another story reporting that an “insider” says this or that. Stop with all the rumors. It is very old now.
