Dustin May is an American professional baseball pitcher who currently plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was born on September 6, 1998, in Justin, Texas. May was selected by the Dodgers in the third round of the 2016 MLB Draft and made his Major League debut in 2019. He made LA’s postseason roster that year and appeared in two games against the Washington Nationals. In 2020, he earned a game one win over the San Diego Padres in the NLDS and was a key member of the pitching staff in LA’s first World Series title in 32 years.
In what was going to be his first full season as a major league starter in 2021, May injured his elbow and underwent season ending Tommy John surgery. He returned to the mound in 2022 and made the postseason roster once again but did not pitch in the NLDS.
He is known for his unique look on the mound, featuring curly red locks of hair and his exceptional stuff, which has earned him the nickname “May Day.” May is an avid hunter in the offseason.
