RECAP: Dodgers Fail To Sweep Cards, Lose 5-2
The Dodgers looked to complete a 3-game sweep of the rival St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday after solid outings by Ross Stripling and Scott Kazmir in the previous 2 games.
In the early going, the Cardinals and Dodgers traded solo home runs as Corey Seager hit a home run for the second night in a row. The 1-1 score would hold from the third inning all the way into the 7th, when Wood was replaced by Louis Coleman, who got his man.
The bullpen that had been so good of late fell into past tendencies as the combination of J.P Howell and Joe Blanton gave up three runs in the 7th to break the game wide open.

The only bright spot for the rest of the evening for the Dodgers would be Corey Seager’s second solo home run and his third in two games.

The 5-2 result for the Dodgers comes as a disappointment for those looking for a series sweep , but there are several positives to be taken from the game: Alex Wood has another strong outing, Corey Seager is hot, and the Dodgers still win the series two games to one.
