Shohei Ohtani Gives Awesome Gift to Dodgers Minor League Pitcher

Shohei Ohtani is quickly endearing himself to the Dodgers community. First, he chose them in free agency (good first step). Then, it was revealed he had massive deferrals in his contract to allow the team to keep spending. Then, he spent his first days as a Dodger recruiting Tyler Glasnow and later Yoshinobu Yamamoto to the team.

Now he’s giving out gifts to his teammates.

Over the weekend, Dodgers prospect Kendall Williams took to social media to post a picture of himself alongside the newest Dodgers superstar. The picture showed Williams holding a signed New Balance cleat from Ohtani, who has a long-term endorsement deal with the equipment and apparel manufacturer.

Williams put a simple “goat emoji” as the caption.

Ohtani has been working out at Dodger Stadium seemingly ever since he signed his record-breaking 10-year, $700 million deal.

His desire to always improve is one of the many aspects of his game that sets him apart from the rest of the league.

However, after his workout, he made sure to meet a future Dodger and give him a gift he’ll cherish forever.

Everyone knows about Ohtani on the field, but Dodger fans are starting to become familiar with his off-the-field persona, too. And every day, he’s continuing to prove how lucky Dodger fans are that he chose their team.

  1. I believe in Shohei there is the genuine quality of a loyal, respectful heart. I am sure he will continue to inspire his fellow players and fans as time goes on. Sho-Time is a very rare quality individual that comes along maybe once in a thousand years.

    1. I have been a Dodger fan since the 50’s when they were the Brooklyn Dodgers when they played at Ebbets Field, this is from my days growing up in NJ

    1. Of course not, he couldn’t drag the angels into the postseason. Still gotta play the games. As a dodgers fan it’s “Great” to see my team go for it, unlike many others. It’s good for baseball to see him in a large market, a postseason team. The angels did him an injustice….

      1. I’m glad he’s an LA Dodger now! Lets go get our next Championship!!!

    2. thats funny because you said Aaron Judge deserved the MVP over Ohtani because Judge carried the team into the playoffs. Now you switched the narrative that one person cant carry the team.

  3. I mean, it’s a pretty low bar for character if comparing to some of our past pitchers ?
