Shohei Ohtani In Dodgers Lineup For Sunday Despite Hamstring Injury
After the Dodgers’ 3-1 loss to the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday, it was revealed that superstar Shohei Ohtani has been playing through a hamstring contusion. He suffered the injury during the team’s last homestand after being hit in the leg by a pickoff.
He has been instructed not to fully exert while on the bases for now but it’s not serious enough for him to be missing games. Ohtani is in the lineup for Los Angeles on Sunday as the team looks to avoid being swept by Cincinnati.
As long as the team is managing the injury, he should be fine. They wouldn’t risk putting him into games if they felt he was at risk for serious injury.
Ohtani has been everything that the Dodgers could have asked for this season, hitting .358 with 13 home runs and 35 runs batted in. He will look to help Los Angeles stop its four-game losing streak today.
