The Dodgers May Have Announced Their Opening Day 30-Man Roster Online

We’re one day away from opening day for the Dodgers. At the outset of this shortened 60-game season, MLB rosters will be set at 30 players for the first two weeks. That number will reduce to 28 for two weeks before settling at 26 for the rest of the season.

On Wednesday, Dodgers.com listed 30 players on the active roster page. It included 17 pitchers and 13 position players. Here are those players.



Pitchers

  • Scott Alexander
  • Pedro Baez
  • Walker Buehler
  • Caleb Ferguson
  • Dylan Floro
  • Brusdar Graterol
  • Kenley Jansen
  • Joe Kelly
  • Clayton Kershaw
  • Adam Kolarek
  • Dustin May
  • Jake McGee
  • Dennis Santana
  • Ross Stripling
  • Blake Treinen
  • Julio Urias
  • Alex Wood

This week, manager Dave Roberts confirmed his starting rotation will include Kershaw, Stripling, Wood, Urias, and Buehler to start the season. Additionally, he said the club would “carry between 15-17 pitchers,” with the list above confirming the 17.

On Tuesday night, Doc also confirmed that the newest Dodger Jake McGee would be making the opening day roster and that AJ Ramos would not.

The pitching staff includes four left-handed relievers.

Infielders

  • Matt Beaty
  • Enrique Hernandez
  • Max Muncy

  • Justin Turner

Again, this is currently unconfirmed, but the numbers and players add up. Understandably, things are subject to change, but what a roster this is!

The Dodgers open the 2020 season at home against the San Francisco Giants at 7:08 pm PT, exclusively on ESPN.

  1. 5 starters and 12 bullpen guys. On any given night, 5 off the bench to pinch hit. Does that mean May is the back up starter or is it some of the guys at the alternate sight?

  2. I’m hoping this team makes lots of runs so Roberts can bring these pitchers along gradually…..
