Top 5 Starting Pitching Targets the Dodgers Need to Pursue This Offseason

One of the biggest reasons why the Dodgers are sitting at home right now is because they lacked the quality starting pitching needed to win in the postseason. Their uncharacteristic rotation held together throughout the year, but when the calendar shifted to October, the strings holding it together broke completely.

Now heading into the offseason, the Dodgers have a clear need that they need to address. The team is still likely to make an aggressive run at two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani, but he can’t help them on the mound in 2024.

LA is going to need to find other players to build their rotation for next season, and it will likely cost them a pretty penny to get effective pitchers. The front office has some work to do this winter, but to find success next year, they need to spend some money.

Who Could the Dodgers Sign?

Well lucky for you, our very own Doug McKain broke down five options for the Dodgers this offseason in his latest video! You can check the entire video out here!

Within the video, he mentioned a few interesting names that Dodgers fans may or may not be familiar with. Of course, there is Blake Snell from the San Diego Padres, who fans are very familiar with. But there are also a few pitchers that are still playing in the postseason, as well.

There is also one international pitcher who could be a true game-changer for the Dodgers if they were to land him. Make sure to check out the entire video for breakdowns on each pitcher, and what it would likely take for the Dodgers to sign them.

This offseason is going to tell us a lot about how the front office views winning, and if they are satisfied with just reaching the postseason each season.

This is the time when the team needs to push their cards in to make a statement after setting themselves up for this offseason. The time has come to collect, and the Dodgers better be ready to make huge investments into their starting pitching for the future.

Blake Snell replaces Urias while weakening the Padres.

  2. I have heard nothing about Ohtani’s arm injury and how bad it is. Can he pitch still or will he require surgery and miss next season? In my opinion this may be a non starter if he can’t pitch next season.
