Tweets Of The Day: Dodgers Offense Wakes Up, Force NLCS Game 6
The Dodgers are coming off a 4-2 loss to the Cardinals in Game 4 of the NLCS and now have been pushed to the brink of elimination. Ricky Nolasco gave up three runs in the third inning and the Dodgers offense couldn’t muster up enough offense to mount a comeback.
This afternoon, the Dodgers turned to Zack Greinke and he was hoping to send this series back to St. Louis. Greinke pitched in Game 1 of the NLCS and was sharp, tossing eight innings with 10 strikeouts and only allowed two earned runs. Greinke needed more run support than Game 1, which has been a problem all series long for the Dodgers.
The Cardinals had Joe Kelly on the mound today and he also pitched in Game 1 of the NLCS, where he single handedly changed the trajectory of this series by hitting Hanley Ramirez in the ribs during his first plate appearance. In Game 1 Kelly went six innings and allowed two runs and six hits.
The Dodgers had the same lineup as in Game 4, which was surprising because Ramirez and Andre Ethier didn’t look healthy yesterday, but they both reportedly felt better today.
Here are the tweets of the day.
