Tweets Of The Night: Dodgers’ B-Squad Loses To Padres 2-0
The Dodgers had to travel to San Diego after clinching the NL West in Arizona and face a struggling Padres team. Now it’s up to them to make their postseason run easier by earning home field advantage.
On the mound tonight is Edinson Volquez and he’ll return to San Diego to try and get a win against his former team. After being traded from Cincinnati, Volquez’ time with San Diego didn’t go very well, but tonight he was trying to earn a win at their expense. Volquez was in search of his 10th win of the season and tried to replicate his performance from his last outing in order to make his case for a postseason roster spot.
The Padres had Robbie Erlin on the mound at Petco and he was trying to get his third win of the season. Erlin had only appeared in nine games prior to this start and he had an ERA of 5.18 coming into the game.
The Dodgers’ lineup was lacked star power, but not one that Dodgers Nation should get used to. Adrian Gonzalez, Mark Ellis, Hanley Ramirez, Juan Uribe, A.J. Ellis, Yasiel Puig, and Matt Kemp had the night off, while Andre Ethier and Carl Crawford continue to get healthy.
Let’s get to the tweets of the night:
