Tweets Of The Night: Ryu’s Effort Wasted In 2-1 Loss To Diamondbacks
The Dodgers were trying to bounce back after losing three straight games at the hands of the Giants, which delayed their NL West celebration for the moment.
Hyun-Jin Ryu was on the mound tonight in hopes of having a better outing and return to his usual self. Ryu is 1-3 in his last four starts and was in search for his 14th win of the season. Coming into tonight, Ryu had a 3.07 ERA, but had been battling some issues with his back and had not been able to regain his dominance.
Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks had Trevor Cahill on the mound and he was in search of his 7th win of the season. Cahill holds a 4.22 ERA and in his last six outings he has a 3-0 record.
Yasiel Puig was back in the starting lineup, but the rest of the starting outfield wasn’t. Both Andre Ethier and Carl Crawford got the night off due to injuries and Nick Punto started in the place of Hanley Ramirez, who is dealing with a back injury of his own.
There is bad blood between the Dodgers and Diamondbacks and with a division title on the line, let’s get to the tweets of the night:
