Video: Dodgers’ Yasiel Puig Continues To Train In Batting Cages
In his first full off-season as a big league player, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig has shown that he’s committed to becoming a better player. Instead of going to winter ball, Puig has been in the states, staying in LA or going to Miami in order to keep in shape and assimilate better into life in America.
Earlier this week, Puig posted a video of him running on a track, using parachute training and also doing some footwork drills. Today, he uploaded a video of him hitting in a batting cage and it looks like he should be ready to go for 2014.
Expected to contribute in a bigger way next season, Puig is slated to start in right field and as the lineup is currently constructed, he’d hit second behind left fielder Carl Crawford. In his rookie season in the big leagues, the 23-year-old had a lot of success while also finding out that things aren’t so easy at the big league level.
