Watch Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani Model as Ambassador for Japanese Video Game

We knew Shohei Ohtani could hit. We knew Shohei Ohtani could pitch. This offseason, we learned he was a great recruiter. And now, he’s showing off his skills as a model.

Earlier this week, Ohtani was appointed as an ambassador for Konami, a Japanese entertainment company and video game developer. The company is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of their game, ‘Power Pros,’ and the 20th anniversary of the spinoff version, ‘Professional Baseball Spirits.’

Ohtani took part in a photoshoot dressed in his Team Japan uniform, and some of the behind-the-scenes footage was posted on X/Twitter by the user, @shoheisaveus. Take a look for yourself:

Ohtani signed a record-breaking 10-year, $700 million deal with the Dodgers this offseason. His introductory press conference drew 70 million viewers, more than the entire 2023 World Series between the Texas Rangers and Arizona Diamondbacks.

Since then, Ohtani has been recruiting players to the Dodgers — namely Tyler Glasnow and Yoshinobu Yamamoto — and was spotted at a Los Angeles Rams game.

He’s also been seen working out at Dodger Stadium, as the beginning of spring training nears.

Ohtani has been a very busy man this offseason. In less than a month, though, he’ll be able to start focusing primarily on Dodgers baseball.
