Whittier Boulevard Shut Down After LA Dodgers Clinch World Series Berth

Welp, I guess we learned a thing or two after the Lakers’ recent championship celebration. Exactly one week after fans flooded the streets of LA donning purple and gold in celebration of the Lake Show’s 17th title, historic Whittier Boulevard was shut down in anticipation of Dodgers fans celebrating a World Series berth.

Deputies were blocking the streets all throughout a stretch through East Los Angeles. Moreover, task forces were deployed by LAPD to monitor celebrations as a safety measure.

More from the scene in East LA.

The Dodgers completed an improbable comeback from a 3-1 series deficit to secure the franchise’s 24th National League Pennant. Understandably, all we can do is ask that people try to observe social distancing guidelines while we hopefully celebrate our team’s first world championship in more than three decades.
