The Dodgers presented President Donald Trump with a custom No. 47 Dodgers jersey to commemorate the visit.
“That is a very good-looking group of people,” President Trump said. “I want to congratulate you on a legendary season.”
President Trump praised manager Dave Roberts for being “one of the greatest managers ever to wear the Dodger blue.” He also congratulated Shohei Ohtani on inventing the 50/50 club.
Ohtani was personally welcomed to the Oval Office and accepted a gift for him and his family from President Trump.
Kiké Hernández shook hands with President Trump, and the crowd laughed after he remarked “hell of a grip.”
It looks like the Dodgers fandom has officially reached the White House as President Trump told the team he hopes they return next year.
“I hope you’re going to be back here next year,” Trump told the Dodgers.
Several members of the Dodgers will be visiting Capitol Hill on Tuesday to continue celebrating the 2024 World Series.
