Dave Roberts Reflects on Tyler Glasnow’s Dominant Outing For Dodgers Against Mets

Another Tyler Glasnow start, another domination.

The Dodgers’ ace notched his best start of 2024, leading the Dodgers to a 10-0 win over the New York Mets. Glasnow tossed eight shuotut innings, the most he’s pitched in a game since 2021, and the most thrown by a Dodgers pitcher in a single game since Clayton Kershaw in 2022. Glasnow held the Mets to seven hits, zero runs, and struck out 10 batters.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts broke down what made Glasnow’s start so good after the game.

“Today was a great one. He impacted us in a lot of ways. Starting pitchers that have been around they understand what’s at stake when they take the baseball that particular start … Today, obviously the fastball play, but the curveball was so good today, in the strike zone, down below when he needed to, and it just kept them off balance. The strikeouts to no walks, another solid performance from Tyler.”

This wasn’t just a great game for Glasnow, but an important rebound for the right-hander after his worst start of the season last Monday. In that game, Glasnow gave up six earned runs and two home runs as the Washington Nationals went on to win 6-4. That was the lone time the Dodgers have lost a game that Glasnow started.

Glasnow officially put that game in the past, and produced for a Dodgers team that desperately needed help after losing five of its last six. Amid a down streak for Los Angeles, the team put together a complete game from a pitching and hitting standpoint, which should have them feeling confident heading into their next road trip.
