Dodgers Fans React to LA Bringing Back Max Muncy on 2-Year Extension
The first move of the ovfseason for the Dodgers happened with the team coming to terms on a contract extension with infielder Max Muncy. Muncy had a team option entering the offseason for $14 million, but now he will remain with the Dodgers for the next few seasons.
The terms of the deal are that it is worth $24 million and includes a $10 club option for 2026. It’s a very team-friendly contract and one that fans should be very excited about.
Muncy was one of the more productive members of the Dodgers historic offense this past season, and he should continue to be in the middle of the action. He finished the 2023 campaign hitting .212 with 36 home runs and 105 runs batted in.
The majority of fans were excited about the news, and you can see some of the best reactions below!
Muncy is a stereotypical power hitter in 2023, as he draws a ton of walks and is typically patient at the plate. But he does strike out a lot as well, leading to a poor batting average.
The veteran infielder has been a fan favorite for some time now, and he completely bounced back from a poor 2022 season. While his defense leaves much to be desired, his offense more than makes up for everything.
This is a great first move for the Dodgers, especially since they lowered his AAV for next season with this deal. They now can focus on upgrading the rest of the roster since they retained one of the key members of the team.

Lose some weight, Max. You will be amazed at how taking off just 20 lbs will improve your mobility.
Max is now a DH. Add Aernado at 3rd and we won’t miss JD martinez
Agree 100%
I’d prefer to have Arenado at 3rd base.
OK for Designated Hitter…. not on the field unless all is unavailable.
IM GLAD HES BACK FOR TWO MORE YEARS, LOVE IT. HE ALWAYS GO ALL OUT 100 % WHEN WERE WINNING OR LOOSING. THANK YOU DODGERS MANAGEMENT. GO BLUE.
