Dodgers: Gavin Lux Setting Up Donation Page to Help Businesses in Kenosha Wisconsin

It’s no secret to anyone right now what is happening in Kenosha Wisconsin. After a man was shot in the back by police, there have been days of growing unrest marked by plenty of damage to the city itself. The Dodgers Gavin Lux is from Kenosha and is doing his best to give back to the town he loves.

In a conversation with am570’s David Vassegh this week, the Dodgers infielder revealed that he is taking action. Lux plans on setting up a GoFundMe page specifically designed to help uptown Kenosha, a spot that has been hit pretty hard by what’s happening.

It’s very emotional. A lot of people I know, a lot of my family members and friends have been affected by it obviously. So I’m going to set up a GoFundMe page actually, and every hit I get the rest of the way, I’ll be donating to the fund and I’m going to ask Dodgers fans, anybody who wants to donate and contribute to help out. Because the city is struggling right now. The area that was worst hit was uptown which is predominantly black-owned businesses.

Lux hasn’t yet got the page up and running, but fans looking for an update should follow along on his social media accounts. He can be found at (@TheRealGavinLux) on both Twitter and Instagram. The Dodgers’ prospect said that it will be posted there once it is up.

Lux was drafted in the first round of the 2016 draft out of Indian Trails High School in Kenosha. Since then, he has blossomed into the Dodgers number one prospect and second-best prospect in all of baseball.  Lux was recalled to the big league team last month with the hopes that he will be taking over the full-time job at second base.
