Dodgers: LA Ace Walker Buehler Gets Into the Whiskey Game

MLB players have plenty of time on their hands since they can’t workout out team’s training facilities due the MLB lockout. Make no mistake, they’re still working out, but they have more time than usual to pursue other interests. For Walker Buehler, that includes whiskey.

According to the Dodgers hurler’s Instagram account, he and his wife, McKenzie Marcinek, are the future owners of a hand-selected barrel of Maker’s Mark Private Selection.

Buehler is born and raised in a state with a rich history in whiskey: Kentucky. In fact, Buehler played his high school ball at Henry Clay HS in Lexington. Lexington is less than 80 miles away from the Maker’s Mark distillery. If anything, Buehler is just doing his Kentuckian civic duty of keeping the whiskey flowing.

Buehler and Marcinek got married in mid-December with many, many of his Dodgers teammates present. The guest list also included past Dodgers and their plus-ones: Kiké Hernandez, Joc Pederson, Corey Seager, Alex Wood. He invited some old guys, David Freese and Logan Forsythe, were also in attendance.

Who knows, it might not be the last birth certificate Buehler and his wife post on social media.
