The Los Angeles Dodgers have revealed their lineup for Game 1 of the 2024 National League Division Series against the San Diego Padres.

Is Freddie Freeman Playing?

Due to his ankle injury, one he said would usually require a 4-6 week IL stint, Freeman is in the lineup for the Dodgers. Max Muncy will be playing third base in Game 1 of the NLDS.

Freeman will be limited in terms of base running and defense, but the Dodgers need his bat in the lineup, and he won’t be missing Game 1 in this best-of-five postseason series.

Who’s Pitching for the Dodgers Tonight?

Yoshinobu Yamamoto is taking the mound for the Dodgers in their first postseason game of 2024. Yamamoto signed a 12-year, $325 million deal with the Dodgers this offseason, the richest contract for a pitcher in MLB history.

Yamamoto missed three months of the season with a shoulder injury, but had a solid rookie campaign, going 7-2 with a 3.00 ERA and 105 strikeouts across 90 innings pitched.

First pitch for Saturday’s NLDS Game 1 is 5:38 p.m. PT/8:38 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on FS1. Joe Davis and John Smoltz will be on the call.

Predictions for Dodgers vs Padres NLDS Game 1

The Dodgers haven’t won a postseason game since Game 1 of the 2022 NLDS when they beat the Padres. They’ll start this postseason off on the right note with a 4-2 win over the Padres, thanks to a strong five innings from Yamamoto and dominance from the bullpen.
