Dodgers: Max Muncy’s Unique Slide Lands Him on Sports Center

The Dodgers came into town on Friday night and steamrolled past the Padres. Thanks to an offensive outburst from Mookie Betts as well as a great performance from Julio Urias on the mound. The bullpen followed him up with a shutout performance and they walked away with the win in the opener.

But there was one moment in the top of the 7th that grabbed the attention of a lot of Dodgers, and Sports Center as well. Max Muncy tagged up on a fly ball off of the bat of Justin Turner. While Freddie Freeman did score from third on the play, Muncy got thrown out at second.

But the slide is what caught the attention of everyone. For as big as a guy as Muncy is, he looked really light on his feet. The Dodgers infielder tried to hold up and dance his way around the tag at second. It didn’t work, but it was pretty wild to watch.

Had he completed it, Muncy probably would have had the slide of the year. And he almost did get around the glove of Jake Cronenworth over at second. But the Dodgers got run out of the inning and that was it for them. thankfully, that didn’t hurt them at all in the win.
