Dodgers: Max Scherzer Thrilled to Finally Watch Clayton Kershaw Pitch
If it feels like it’s been a while since you’ve seen Clayton Kershaw on the mound that’s because it has been. The long-time Dodgers ace makes his return to the starting rotation tonight at Dodger Stadium and not only are fans excited… so are his teammates.
Especially Max Scherzer.
Coming off his historic Sunday, Mad Max shared before Monday night’s action that he’s actually been quite anxious to see Kersh in action. This time from the Dodger bench.
I’ve been dying to see it. I’ve faced him for so many years and competed against him, this is a great thing. I’ve always wanted to be on his team.
Clayton and Max have faced off head to head less than a handful of times (four times) but obviously never been on the same team until this past July 31st. However, with Kershaw sidelined while dealing with an elbow issue, Scherzer hasn’t enjoyed the pleasure of a Clayton Kershaw start with his own eyes from the same dugout.
Both pitchers share Hall of Fame credentials and legendary intensity on start days. Now Max “Don’t F’n Touch Me” Scherzer gets to see the real Tony Crenshaw on the bump.
