Dodgers Minor League Players Of The Week – Pederson, Reed Take Honors

Hitter of the Week – Joc Pederson

After taking home the honors in Week 1, Joc follows up with just as impressive a performance in Week 2. The centerfielder went 15 for his last 32 (.469) with 5 doubles and a two-homer game on Jackie Robinson day. He’s still showing tremendous plate discipline, with as many walks as strikeouts over that span. And, to top it off, he stole 3 bases. There’s really not much more you could ask of Joc, who will turn 22 on Monday.

Pitcher of the Week – Chris Reed

There were some good performances over the past week, but Reed’s stands out. The soon-to-be 24 year old spun 6 hitless innings on Wednesday, allowing a pair of unearned runs on errors and walking 3 while striking out 9. Unfortunately, the no-hitter was broken up in the 9th inning. His performance has been strong thus far, posting an ERA of 1.02 in 17.2 innings with 22 strikeouts and just 6 hits allowed. He may eventually end up in the bullpen, but Chris is doing his best to give the decision makers second thoughts.
