Dodgers News: Chris Taylor Exits Final Game of Season Following Painful Hit By Pitch

The thing you never want to see happen happened. In a meaningless game, Dodgers left fielder Chris Taylor was forced to leave Sunday afternoon’s regular season finale shortly after getting drilled on the left knee by a pitch.

He stayed in the game after writhing on the ground in pain for a few moments and even went out to play another half inning on defense before eventually making the early exit.

The move seems to be mostly precautionary, but certainly, Taylor will undergo further testing over the next day or so. Kolten Wong took his spot in the lineup and Kiké Hernandez moved from shortstop to left field.

Taylor was one of three Dodgers to be hit by a pitch from the San Francisco starting pitcher Kyle Harrison on Sunday, something that raised some frustrations for the LA bench.

  1. To hit one batter is bad enough but to hit three batters and let the pitcher go on pitching as if it was no big deal is another. I don’ like the smell of this at all!

  2. For every guy of ours they hit, we should have reciprocated. Let those Giants nurse their bruises as they nurse their pride over being out of the postseason. Can someone remind me what happened to their manager? LOL.
