Dodgers News: Dave Roberts Reacts to Padres ‘Crying Kershaw’ Meme
As we round the curve in reactions to the Padres’ classless treatment of a future Hall of Famer with a meme of Clayton Kershaw making a crying face that featured animated tear drops. You know, the type of things major league baseball organizations do to celebrate victories… make fun of the opponent instead.
To his credit, Kershaw didn’t care much to give in to the bait, as he said it. He only offered up that he should have pitched better. His manager, Dave Roberts, was away from the team on Saturday while he celebrated his son Cole’s graduation from Loyola Marymount. So Doc didn’t have a chance to say anything.
Until now.
Dave was asked his thoughts about the viral moment that blew up on social media. He praised Kershaw’s handling of the incident.
The Padres keep on trying harder than necessary to create a rivalry with the Dodgers and their fan base. And stupid tactics like this brew hatred more than a good old fashioned rivalry based on beating your opponent.
Then again, with a 61-120 record against the Dodgers since 2013, it makes sense why they’d have to try so very hard.

I won’t post a meme, but imagine a crying Padres fan after Mookie tied the game with 2 outs in the 9th, and then Big Game James 3-run shot to win it in the 10th. That always makes me feel good.
