Dodgers News: David Peralta Named Finalist for Gold Glove Award in Left Field

Los Angeles Dodgers left fielder David Peralta has been named a finalist for the National League Gold Glove award in left field.

Peralta is a one-time Gold Glove award winner, back in 2019 with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

He’s up against Ian Happ of the Chicago Cubs and Eddie Rosario of the Atlanta Braves for the award.

Peralta signed a one-year deal with the Dodgers right before the season began, and ended up playing a very solid role for the team. He became the everyday left fielder against right-handed pitching, and brought his incredible defense to the field.

Peralta appeared in 118 games in left field, and played 805 innings out there. He made just two errors all year long, and had an impressive seven defensive runs saved above average.

Peralta is now heading towards free agency and is reportedly unlikely to return to LA next season. But he made a great impact on the team all year long, and hopefully will cap it off with his second Gold Glove award.

He joins Freddie Freeman as the two Dodgers to be nominated thus far.

The winners of the award are announced on Nov. 5 at 4:30 p.m. PT on ESPN.
