Dodgers News: Freddie Freeman Named Finalist for Gold Glove Award at First Base

Dodgers star first baseman Freddie Freeman has been named a finalist for the Gold Glove award at first base.

Freeman is a one-time Gold Glove award winner, taking home the award in 2018 back when he was with the Atlanta Braves.

Freeman is up against Carlos Santana of the Milwaukee Brewers and Christian Walker of the Arizona Diamondbacks for the award.

Freeman had a great year at first base this season, committing just one error in the 161 games played and 1,378.1 innings at the position. That was good for a .999 fielding percentage. Freeman also had three outs above average this season, which is the same amount he had in his 2018 Gold Glove season.

He was a stable force at first base for LA all season long, and was consistently out there manning the first base position.

Hopefully Freeman is able to take home his second Gold Glove award, and his first since joining the Dodgers.

The winners are announced on Nov. 5 at 4:30 p.m. PT on ESPN.
