Dodgers News: Eduardo Rodriguez Invokes No-Trade Clause to LA, Where Do They Turn Now?
It’s not exactly a secret that the Los Angeles Dodgers are on the hunt for another starting pitcher as Tuesday’s MLB trade deadline approaches.
The Dodgers acquired Lance Lynn last week, but still need another starter to shore up what’s a thin rotation with Clayton Kershaw injured and Julio Urias struggling.
The team has swung and missed on multiple targets over the past few days including Lucas Giolito, Jordan Montgomery and Justin Verlander, and unfortunately for the Dodgers, they can add another one to that list after Detroit Tigers starter Eduardo Rodriguez invoked his no-trade clause, putting an adrupt end to what was an agreed upon deal between the two franchise, per ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
With Tuesday’s 3 PM deadline just under an hour away, the Dodgers still have some targets available including the Pittsburgh Pirates Mitch Keller, Jack Flaherty of the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Chicago White Sox Dylan Cease, but one thing is abundantly clear.
Time is now of the absolute essence for the Dodgers to get a deal both completed and finalized.
