Dodgers News: Former World Series Champion Ron Cey Set To Drop New Podcast
In the new age of sports media fans have started to become more inclined to listen to former athletes. This comes to no disrespect to the talk show hosts and radio personalities that have been doing their job for decades, but instead shows a sign of respect for the athletes who bring their perspective from experience.
For the Dodgers fans who have been with the team for their lifetime, and for those who were able to experience the 1981 World Series, they will now get a chance to listen to former Dodgers third baseman Ron Cey. Cey was the 1981 World Series MVP and was named an All-Star for six consecutive seasons, all with the Dodgers.
Fans now have a chance to go into the time chamber and listen to some of Cey’s greatest stories in his new podcast “We’ll See About That” and will more than likely bring on some special guests to hear out as well.
Cey began his career in 1971 drafted by the Dodgers. Cey would go on to play 12 amazing seasons with the Dodgers before being shipped to the Chicago Cubs for four seasons and then playing his final season with the Oakland Athletics in 1987.
Cey ended his career with a .261 batting average but it’s hard to argue against his best season of his career in 1977. Cey was eighth in MVP voting as he finished with a career high in home runs (30) and RBI’s (110) on a .241 batting average.
This is something Dodgers fans are going to want to tune into if they want to hear insight of old school baseball from the Penguin himself.
