Dodgers News: Freddie Freeman Makes Priorities Clear, ‘I Want to Win a World Series Here’

The Los Angeles Dodgers have one goal in mind, and that is to win another World Series. The franchise has seen success that many other organizations would love to accomplish, but they haven’t been able to consistently get to the mountaintop. It’s been the one criticism of this team for years.

They won in 2020, but LA wants to win it all during a full season. It would give them a sense of accomplishment because they never really got to fully celebrate their title from a few years ago.

The additions of players like Freddie Freeman have helped turn the Dodgers into one of the best teams in baseball. Freeman is on his own path this season, currently going strong as one of the favorites for the National League MVP award.

But Freeman is solely focused on one thing, and that is winning a World Series with the Dodgers.

“For me, if I need to go 0 for 4 and move the guy to third base four times, I’m going to do that. That might hurt my stats but I want to win a World Series. I want to win a World Series here. If everything works out and individual awards happen, great. But I want another ring.”

This is the mindset that Freeman has. He is the ultimate team player, and it shows in his results on-field. It’s a massive reason why the Dodgers signed him in the first place. And why he won the 2020 MVP award.

Freeman, like the Dodgers, won his individual award during the shortened season. It doesn’t take anything away from his accomplishment, but if he could win the MVP award during a full season while also helping LA win a title, it would be beyond special.

The hometown kid came back last off-season and has been incredible. Freeman has been one of the best and most consistent players in baseball during his time with the Dodgers.

He knows that the MVP race is on, but he is also trying to just focus on winning games.

“It’s hard for me to think about individual things while you’re still trying to achieve the team goal,” Freeman said. “When I won it 2020 – yeah, it was 60 games but it felt good. No denying it.”

Per The OC Register

On the season, Freeman is hitting .339 with 23 home runs and 83 runs batted in. He has been one of the best players across the sport this season and could easily wind up with another MVP honor.

His consistency has helped see the Dodgers rise in the standings. They know that they can count on him every night, and that is something you don’t get from every player.

If Freeman can continue his strong season, he could take home the award. It will also help the Dodgers in their quest for another title. They are going to need him to come through during playoff time.

He is the ultimate professional, and the Dodgers are lucky that he is a member of their team.
