Dodgers News: Jake Marisnick To Miss At Least 3 Weeks, Per Dave Roberts

The Dodgers are going to be without outfielder Jake Marisnick for a little while.

On Friday, ahead of the Dodgers’ series opener against the Rangers in Texas, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts spoke to reporters, and spoke about Marisnick’s injury. He said that Marisnick will miss at least three weeks with his hamstring strain, meaning he’ll be out until at least the middle of August.

As most Dodger fans know by now, injury reports from Doc are never the most trustworthy thing in the entire world. So I’m taking this three weeks, and then adding at least one more to it, probably more.

I also think that, unfortunately, the injury to Marisnick may have cost him a spot on this team, as the Dodgers will now have to address their need for a right-handed bat this deadline, if not two.

There are tons of players the Dodgers could target, my favorite being Tyler O’Neill of the Cardinals (which you can read about here), but I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Dodgers add multiple right-handed bats over the next 10 days.

That could spell trouble for Marisnick, who’s likely to miss a month before even potentially starting a rehab assignment and then trying to return sometime in late August or September.

For what it’s worth, Marisnick did look solid in a very small sample size, going 2-for-5 for LA. However, now that he’s on the injured list for the foreseeable future, the Dodgers will have to operate as a team in great need of a right-handed bat.
