Dodgers News: Julio Urias Placed on Administrative Leave by MLB
As expected, Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association have agreed to place pitcher Julio Urias on paid administrative leave while launching an investigation into a domestic violence incident. Urias was arrested on Sunday night at Exposition Park in Los Angeles following a reported physical altercation with a person presumed to be his spouse.
The left-hander has a court date set for September 27th in Los Angeles.
As of now, the Dodgers have said in a statement that they are aware of the reported incident but will not comment on it until completing their own investigation.
Urias was scheduled to start for LA against the Marlins in Miami on Thursday. His spot in the rotation will likely go to a rookie starter. For now, it appears Ryan Pepiot will take his spot, as he’s in Miami with the team.
