Dodgers News: Marlins’ Star Had No Problem With Clayton Kershaw Getting the ASG Start
The All-Star Game was absolutely fantastic. The show that Major League Baseball put on couldn’t have been better, and Dodgers fans showed up in a big way. Getting to see Clayton Kershaw get his first Mid-Summer Classic start for the National League made for the perfect storyline.
But even Kershaw knew there were other guys that deserved the nod. Mainly, the Dodgers pitcher kept pointing towards Marlins’ ace Sandy Alcantara. He had a phenomenal start to the 2022 season and has not slowed down since.
But when he got the call that he would start the game for the NL, Kersh also gave Sandy a call. The Dodgers southpaw said that he was going to get the start, and Alcantara was completely understanding of that.
“He told me that the manager called him and that they need him to start the game. I said, ‘OK, go ahead. You deserve it.’”
Pretty cool thing to see between the young hurler and the established veteran.
Other Dodgers News
The Dodgers have a whole lot of visitors from out of town this week. That includes the Braves and their mascot, Blooper. He had a little bit of fun visiting Dodger Stadium on Monday afternoon, and he spent his time trolling the 2020 World Series win.
The Dodgers will NOT be the only ones in on Luis Castillo. The All-Star hurler will likely be moved by the trade deadline, but there are going to be a few other big competitors in on him. That would apparently include the Houston Astros, which doesn’t bode well for fans.
