Dodgers News: Miguel Rojas Out of Lineup Again on Tuesday Due to Soreness in Groin

Dodgers starting shortstop Miguel Rojas wasn’t in the lineup on Monday. At first, it appeared to be a normal day off, however, Tuesday came around, and Rojas wasn’t in the lineup then, either.

Back-to-back off days is no normal thing, which is why on Tuesday, he was asked about the reasoning for being out of the lineup. Rojas is reportedly dealing with some soreness in his groin after trying to turn a double play on Sunday, which is why he’s been on the bench the past two games.

“It’s nothing to really worry about. I’m available off the bench today if they need me, but we’re thinking of the big picture, the long run. There’s no need to play through it now.”

Chris Taylor has been the replacement shortstop in Rojas’s place. Last night, he finally got the monkey off his back by getting his first hit of the year, a 430-foot missile to center field for a home run.

Taylor is back in the lineup on Tuesday, batting in the 8-hole. He’s still only reached base once this year, so he’ll hope to have a little more luck on Tuesday.

As for Rojas, it doesn’t sound like an IL stint is in his future. It appears the Dodgers are being extra cautious with his sore groin, and are hoping to get him back in the lineup soon. He still took live batting practice on Tuesday.

Rojas already got Monday off, and with the day off on Wednesday, that’ll be three straight days of rest. Hopefully that’s enough to get Rojas back in the lineup soon.
