Dodgers News: Miguel Rojas Reveals Kiké Hernandez’s Part in His Hot Play

Sometimes sharing really is caring, especially when it comes to teammates using each other’s bats. Dodgers infielder Miguel Rojas has seen a boost in his hitting lately, and he has contributed it to using teammate Kiké Hernandez’s bat.

“I’ve been using Kiké’s bat, he gave it to me a couple weeks ago. I liked it and I took it from him and I’ve been swinging the bat really well, so I’m going to try to find another one that has a lot of hits on it. Kiké’s been good luck to me.”

Rojas has struggled at the plate this season but has kept a positive attitude throughout. He has tried to help the team win in different ways such as his defense and leadership skills. It has resulted in him becoming a valued member of this squad and someone that manager Dave Roberts has the utmost confidence in.

The veteran infielder spoke about his recent hot streak and how it has helped the team.

“I feel like it’s a season of adjustments and I feel like I’ve been trying to find myself and staying a little bit more quiet at the plate and not doing too much with my hands,” said Rojas who has hit .340 (18 for 53) over his past 16 games. “Physical adjustments are important, but mentally when you start getting hits and when you start getting on a roll, it kind of helps you too. The confidence at the plate is important and I’m riding that wave right now and I’m going to ride it until I have to make more adjustments.”

Per The OC Register

On the year, Rojas is hitting .235 with three home runs and 26 runs batted in. It has been a frustrating season for him, but he has remained professional.

The Dodgers will take whatever offense that Rojas can provide for them. Anything he provides is seen as extra help, so this resurgence from him has been great to see.

All Rojas cares about doing is helping the team win in whatever way possible. Roberts has even gone on record to say that he believes Rojas will play a major role for this team come playoff time.

If he can continue this level of production for the rest of the year, and into the postseason, LA will be in good shape. They already have a strong offense, but with his bat coming alive, it makes them that much stronger.

We see it every year when a role player gets hot for a few weeks, and it helps boost a playoff run. It could be Rojas this time around, and nobody would deserve it more.
