Dodgers News: Roberts Feels Team Feeds Off of Max Muncy When He’s on a Tear

Batting a .197 with 19 home runs on the season isn’t enough to stop Max Muncy from slowing the Dodgers down. Instead, Muncy decided to turn his season around at just the right time.

Muncy decided to change his swing and with the help from those around him with his mental struggles, he has really found a way to be a driving force for the Dodgers.

In August, Muncy hit .261 with 7 home runs and 19 RBI’s. And just nine days into September, Muncy is batting a .360 and already has 3 home runs with 6 RBI’s. Two of those home runs came in the Wednesday win over the San Francisco Giants, his first multi home run game of the season.

Dave Roberts not benching Muncy during his struggles early on in the season seems to have paid off at exactly the right time. Roberts went on to mention the catalyst Muncy has been during his run.

“He’s been grinding all year to get to this position. He’s a big part of what we’re doing as an offense. When he’s going well it seems like guys feed off that because he’s always in the middle of things.”

There’s no question about Muncy’s talents as the former All-Star is slowly finding his way back to familiar territory. Muncy wins and the Dodgers keep winning. Life is good. And life will hopefully be better come October.
