Dodgers News: Shelby Miller Breaks Silence on Instagram Following End of Season

After some early season struggles, the Dodgers bullpen battled through their adversity and ended up becoming one of the more dominant parts of the 2023 team. They knew they could perform well all along but needed to figure some things out along the way.

It was arguably the best bullpen that LA has had in quite some time, which is ironic considering the state of their starting rotation.

One of the key members of the bullpen was veteran right-hander Shelby Miller, who saw major production in his first year with the Dodgers. It seems that the Dodgers reclamation project list gets to add another name to it after the season Miller put together.

His year was interrupted by injury, but in the 36 games that Miller did play, he was special. He posted an ERA of 1.71 and a WHIP of 0.96. Miller also struck out 42 batters over 42 innings, showing his efficiency.

He took to his social media, like so many other members of the Dodgers, to thank the fans for the season. Miller will be a free agent, so it remains to be seen if he will return to the club.

LA would love to have him back next season, but his strong year earned him a big payday on the open market. Unless he is willing to take a smaller contract to remain with the Dodgers, it’s likely that Miller played his only season in Los Angeles.

The 33-year-old saw himself put together a career year with LA, and the Dodgers magic is still alive. Some other team will likely offer him the bag, and Miller more than earned the chance to take it.

While we can hope that he will be back, the likelihood is that we have seen the final game for him in a Dodgers uniform. And if that is the case, we wish him the best of luck moving forward!
