Dodgers News: Trea Turner Knows Game 1 Was Important to Win vs Streaking Padres
The Dodgers kept to there expectations and took down the Padres in game one of the NLDS. A win that will look to catapult them through the rest of the series against a formidable foe.
The Padres battled hard in a Wild Card series with the Mets and took them down in three games. It gave them less time to rest, but to some it may have been a blessing keeping them more fresh heading into a tough NLDS battle.
There were skeptics, but Trea Turner and the Dodgers powered through and Turner knows how important it is to take the 1-0 lead against a team like the Padres (quotes via MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM).
“It’s good to take that out of our mind and not have that been an excuse or obstacle. Obviously the time off didn’t matter very much. They battled back and made it very tough for us so it was a good win for us all around.”
The Dodgers took care of home field advantage and still hold on in a short series.
“We weren’t necessarily concerned. You see it a lot when the wild card team is playing good baseball and they come into another teams house that hasn’t played for a couple days and they keep the ball rolling. So it was important to get off to a good start and put that to rest and now we can put that behind us and keep playing.”
One down, 10 to go. Job ain't even close to finished for these #Dodgers.

The quick wins are important but the main goal is to take it one game at a time. The postseason has just begun and the Dodgers are nowhere near finishing their job.
