Dodgers News: Trea Turner Removed From Game After Awkward Play
Tough break for the Dodgers as the last thing the team needs is more injuries, only this time it comes at the expense of one of their top players Trea Turner. Turner has seen many hot hitting streaks this season, but this might have cooled him off for atleast the second game of the double header.
Trea Turner hitting streaks as a Dodger:
27 games
26 games
20 games
16 games (twice)— Dodger Insider (@DodgerInsider) September 20, 2022
Turner got drilled in the back in the top of the fifth inning by his teammate Miguel Vargas and was quickly replaced in the top of the sixth by Hanser Alberto. The seriousness of the injury remains up in the air, but signs point toward it being less serious than expected.
With the Dodgers locked into the postseason, the team will do anything that needs to be done in order to keep their star players healthy. The Dodgers have recently clinched a first-round bye giving them extra rest in case players need more time to come back.
On the season, Turner is hitting .304 and is in the midst of a 16 game hitting streak. There is still game two of the doubleheader scheduled for today, so we should know more about TT’s injury by then.
