Dodgers’ Owner Voted ‘Most Liked’ in New Survey
For most sports fans, they determine the success of an organization based on the results seen on the field of play. While they are correct in their assessment, there is a lot more that goes into building a winning team than just the performance of the players.
It starts with the culture that is built from the top down, coming from ownership. If the ownership prioritizes winning, so will the rest of the organization. And for the Los Angeles Dodgers, their ownership only has one thing in mind – winning championships.
In a recent survey done by Casino.CA, Dodgers owner Mark Walter was ranked as the most liked owner in Major League Baseball. They conducted this research by surveying 3,000 MLB fans on their team’s owner.
Walter came in at a favorable rating score of 7/10, which was tied for the highest with five other owners around the league. The Houston Astros, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Mets, Toronto Blue Jays and Texas Rangers respective owners all received a 7/10 score as well.
Casino.CA also looked at how many fans knew who their team’s owner was. Fans of the Dodgers said that 53% know who he is, while 47% of supporters have no idea who Walter is.
This isn’t too alarming since many fans are die-hards and may not follow the team closely on a day-by-day basis. However, having over 50% of fans know who Walter is shows the dedication that Los Angeles has from its fanbase.
Walter’s likeability score also surpassed other MLB owners’ average by 15%. This is likely the fans showing appreciation for all the moves that the team has made over the years.
While the Dodgers haven’t consistently won championships, they are always in the mix. This past offseason, Los Angeles went all-in, something fans have been wanting for a long time. The Dodgers ownership understands that the city of L.A. demands excellence and it’s well represented in how the fanbase views their performance.
