Dodgers Place Kyle Hurt on Injured List, LHP Nick Ramirez Added to Active Roster
The Dodgers announced some moves before their second game of the series against the New York Mets. Los Angeles placed right-hander Kyle Hurt on the injured list with shoulder inflammation and left-hander Nick Ramirez was added to the active roster to take his place.
Ramirez has made two appearances for the Dodgers this season, posting an ERA of zero over three innings of work. He was acquired from the New York Yankees over the offseason for cash considerations.
The veteran lefty could be a welcome sight for a Dodgers bullpen that has struggled heavily so far this season. He will try to make the most of his chance with the team, potentially earning a more solid spot within the bullpen.
Hurt is the Dodgers’ No. 9 ranked prospect, per Dodgers Nation’s preseason rankings, and has made his claim to be with the team. He was optioned toward the end of March but was brought back up earlier this week.
He now heads to the injured list after throwing 6.2 innings this season for Los Angeles. He posted an ERA of 1.35 during his time with the team and will likely be with them later on in the season once he gets healthy again. The hope is that the injury won’t have him out for too long and he can return sooner rather than later.
