Dodgers Ranked As Top Destination Spot For Potential Free Agents
The Dodgers are expected to be one of the more aggressive teams this offseason in terms of upgrading their roster. They will be looking at multiple options all over the league to do so, and it could see them spend a ton of money.
Their first priority is landing two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani via free agency, and then upgrading their starting pitching. LA understands what they need to do, and hopefully, they are able to execute.
MLB writer Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report ranked the Dodgers as the top destination spot for free agents across the league, and considering how many good organizations there are, this is high praise for LA.
“There’s enough space for Shohei Ohtani—who has seemed destined for Dodger Blue since at least last winter—plus whatever else the team may want. Like, say, Yoshinobu Yamamoto.”

In addition to winning, the Dodgers can afford to bring in players like Ohtani and others, while still having the funds to do more. They also have a very strong farm system that supplies them with young, cheap talent.
It has been a process for the Dodgers, and it’s how they have kept up their winning ways for years. They have built a sustainable winning team, and that’s not easy to do.
“Say what you will about the Dodgers only having one World Series championship to show for it, but they’ve been far and away MLB’s most consistent winner of the last decade.”
Per Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report
The Dodgers are one of the few teams in the league that can offer potential free agents the chance to win the World Series every year. They’ve made the playoffs 11 straight seasons, and don’t seem to be going away anytime soon.
In the past, LA has been more hesitant to shell out large free-agent contracts, but it feels like this may be the offseason that they change direction. The front office knows that they were embarrassed in the postseason two years in a row, and they don’t want to make it a third.
“True, the Dodgers have been somewhat risk-averse in free agency under president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman, who’s topped out at $162 million for Freddie Freeman. But if ever there was a time for him to flex the team’s financial muscle, it’s now.”
Per Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report
If there was ever a year for LA to go all-in, it’s right now. They set themselves up well financially and should be looking to bring in multiple top-tier talents this offseason.
The fanbase has become uneasy with the underperformance in the postseason year after year, and it’s time to do something different. We will see just how much this front office wants to win based on the moves that they make this offseason.
